Titan 1500KVA Resistive/Inductive Load Bank Overview

Simplex Load Banks - Titan Load Bank

Very high capacity electrical loads, for testing, maintenance and performance analysis of large AC power systems can be formed using the Simplex Titan Load Bank. It is a self-contained, semi-portable unit providing resistive and inductive loads to 1500KVA at 0.8 power factor. It can be applied singly or in systems of multiple units paralleled to achieve virtually any total capacity desired. Pictured is a Titan 550 Load Bank.

The Titan is weatherproof and intended for outdoor use. It can be moved using a forklift or a crane, or it can be mounted on a trailer. Trailer installations can accommodate multiple units, within the weight capacity of the trailer.

Titan 1500KVA Resistive/Inductive Load Bank Features

General
Simplex Titan load banks can be used to satisfy the requirements of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for emergency stand-by power systems.
Load Elements
Simplex Powr-Web chromium alloy, open wire, continuously supported, power resistor.
Elements mounted in slide-out trays.
Resistive and inductive loads controlled separately to permit power factor variation.
Rack mounted inductive load elements.
UL Recognized.
System Controls
Standard: Simplex D-Series Digital Controller with local or remote touchscreen.
Remote operator interface terminal and user programmable automatic test routines.
Cooling
Integral forced air cooling system.
3-phase, direct-drive motor.
Vertical airflow -- cold air intake at bottom, hot air exhaust at top.
System Protections
Sensors, alarms (alarm message on remote operator interface terminal), lock-outs as appropriate, for the following: fan failure, high exhaust temperature, high intake temperature.
Over temperature switch embedded in coils.
Load Circuit Protection: branch circuit fuses. Fuses are current limiting type, 200,000 AIC, 600V, enabling safe use on large generating or UPS system.
Load Control
Branch circuit contactors, each 50KW step.
Contactors with enclosed silver surfaced contacts, 120V coils; electrically operated and electrically held.
Connections
Control Wiring: 105°C, color coded.
Power Wiring: 150°C XLP color-coded.
Cables connect to full rated copper bus bar with an oversized terminal junction box.
Enclosure
Enclosure abrasively blasted or chemically etched, primed and finished, except exhaust hood which is unpainted, galvanized steel.
Anti-condensation heaters at 120V, 1ø, 240V 1ø, or any common 3ø voltage.
